About

I’m a multimedia journalist based in the Middle East, a native English (Scottish) speaker with Arabic language skills.

An experienced reporter and copy editor for the Online and Lebanon desks of a national daily, I am also able to produce, script, record and edit audio/video packages for different audiences and demographics.

My areas of interest include politics, social affairs, international relations, cyber security, civil society movements and narratives.

I’m proficient in industry-recognised production and editing software, including Burli, Avid and InDesign, and graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with an MA in Multimedia Journalism with Distinction (NCTJ and BJTC  accredited course).

I was also awarded the student category of the Refugee Festival Scotland Media Awards 2016 for my interview with Wissam, a Syrian refugee in Scotland. His story and others can be found in the Refugee Stories section of this site.
